That's not a baby bump, it's called too much carbs

So, I am currently at 11 weeks and 4 days and according to my What to Expect i-phone app, the baby is the size of a large plum, in case you were wondering.

At this point I am not supposed to really be showing yet, but pants are definitely tighter and my tummy is not looking as flat as it used too (not that it ever was all that flat). I really think this has more to do with my changed eating habits more than anything. Carbs and comfort food seem to be the only things that don't make me want to puke when I think about food. I have been eating more rice, bread and crackers in the last 4-6 weeks than I did for most of the year. Plus I am too damn tired to exercise. I just want to sleep and lay on the couch.

I know how important exercise is and I am usually pretty good about getting myself to a yoga class, for a hike or something besides being a loaf, but man these days it's hard to even get to work. I just have to push myself to do it. I should probably join some kind of prenatal yoga class, that would force me to do something.

The fact that I am pregnant and having a baby has not sunk in yet. I guess because it's still early. And that I feel too nauseous and tired to care. I am guessing once I start showing things will feel more real. For now, it's just taking things day to day, and hoping it won't be the day I puke.

Next appointment, January 12 and I get to hear the baby's heart beat! Maybe that will make things more real. Oh and by the way, due date is July 14, the day after my birthday!

EPT says "Pregnant"

While I got off birth control quite a few months back, we knew it was a possibility that I would get pregnant, but weren't really seriously concerned or trying. It was more like, if it happens, it happens. And it did.

Last weekend I decided to take a test to see, since I was late. It was one of those 'cheaper' ones, so the + sign was faint. I decided to get the EPT version that says 'Pregnant' or 'Not Pregnant,' so it would be clear. So last week Thursday the 3rd, EPT confirmed pregnancy.

Since then, I have scheduled my first OBGYN appointment for the 17th to reconfirm my confirmation from two pregnancy tests and I have also downloaded a bunch of books to my Kindle, podcasts to my ipod and subscribed to a bunch of parenting and pregnancy magazines.  Fortunately, not too much nausea yet, but I feel bloated. Though it could just be fat from all the good/junk food I have been eating.

So far, only moms have been told and will probably wait to tell other family and close friends until after the 17th appointment.
